Leicester Cathedral Wedding Photography
Updated: Sep 11, 2021
You have to see the beauty at Sophia and Maksymilian Cathedral wedding! It took place at Leicester Cathedral, and they had a lovely reception at The Leicester City Rooms, right after. It will always be my passion as a wedding photographer (@veronikaj-photography) to capture beautiful weddings like these. I love the chance to document them so the couple can enjoy reliving the memories many years later. Here is a brief insight into what went on that beautiful day.
What Sophia & Maks say:
"Veronika has such a unique style that shone out to me while I was searching for a wedding photographer. Her photos showcase her beautiful and creative imagination, which made our photos really one of a kind.
Veronika was so helpful and friendly throughout the whole experience from booking to our big day, and we are incredibly grateful for such a huge selection of beautiful photos which we will cherish for the rest of our lives together. Thank you for everything you have done for us, we would recommend you to everyone :)"

Sophia and Maksymilian had their wedding and reception at two different locations, as I've already mentioned. The first was a church wedding at the Leicester Cathedral and then their reception at The City Rooms, Leicester (@thecityroomsleic). Both of these venues were stunning looking for wedding photography.
The Leicester Cathedral is a majestic venue with breath-taking architecture. I also love the fact that it is actually physically in the heart of Leicester. Its patron is Saint Martin of Tours, who is known for his generosity.
This venue also has a lovely history and a beautiful link to King Richard III, which you can check out. It was at this beautiful Cathedral that I captured Sophia and Maksymilian ceremony. One of the things that stood out was the beautiful golden ambo for the reading. It was in the shape of a bird and very unique. You'll also love the stained-glass windows.
The City Rooms Leicester
The City Rooms is located not too far from the Leicester Cathedral in the heart of Leicester too. It is considered one of the best wedding venues in Leicester, and from the pictures I captured, you'll see why. This building has been around since 1972 and can seat up to 200 wedding guests. Sophia and Maksymilian had a fantastic wedding reception here. Stylish Weddings (@stylish_weddings_uk) styled this reception room.
The Wedding Ceremony
I started this wedding by capturing the beautiful guests outside the Leicester Cathedral as they waited for the start of the ceremony. The bridesmaids looked amazing in their flowing lilac gowns from David's Bridal (@davidsbridaluk). The groomsmen were also present and looked great in their suits from Moss Bross (@mossbros). Everyone awaited the bride's arrival.
Soon enough, Sophia pulled up in the most beautiful white cab, which served as the wedding transport. She looked angelic with her bouquet from Elja (Wedding Flowers Leicester). And the wedding march began. She was walked down the aisle by her dad with a priest leading the procession. Her bridesmaids followed closely behind.
The look on Maksymilian as he sneaked a peek at Sophia is one that always warms my heart as a wedding photographer. He looked so delighted to see her as his bride. Then the ceremony got on the way. The priest gave an exhortation, loved ones took readings, and through it all, this couple held hands, looking very much in love. It was so beautiful.
Next, it was time for the vows and the ring exchange. After that, this couple shared their first kiss, and I have a lovely gif of this moment. I've discovered as a wedding photographer that gifs are perfect for depicting precious wedding moments like this one. So, I have one sharing this moment with you.
After this kiss, the couple and their witnesses signed the wedding registry, and the ceremony ended. After the ceremony, Sophia and Maksymilian walked out into a receiving line of their ones. I captured this beautiful moment with petal confetti sprayed by the guests. It was beautiful, and I have a gif you'll love of this moment too. Then it was time for the meet and greet and formal portraits, which went nicely too.
The Wedding Portraits
For this couple's portraits, I started with the formals with them and their loved ones. Family members and the couple's wedding party were all featured. The couple themselves looked terrific. Sophia had her hair and makeup done by Jessica Nurse (@makeupmyweddingday). She looked very angelic in her veil. The love that this couple has for each other shone through in all of their formal portraits. I had such a lovely time capturing them. I loved the images in the getaway taxi cab too.
The Wedding Reception
The City Rooms looked fabulous as the reception venue of this lovely couple. From the table settings to the welcome table, you could see that much thought went into this. The reception started with the arrival of the couple in their white getaway cab.
Guests were excited to see them and the speeches kicked off with Maksymilian giving a vote of thanks for the couple. The other toasts and speeches also went well. The couple personally greeted their loved ones at each table during this reception. This was a lovely personal touch that everyone also enjoyed.
I also captured images of some lovely guests. Soon it was time for the cutting of the cake and this couples first dance. You'll love the unique cake topper that this couple had for their celebration. The cake itself had four tiers with a lovely little top tier holding the topper. It also had flowers as part of its design.
When it came to the first dance, you could see how united this couple was. Their dance was romantic, magical and fun all at once. I also really loved capturing this reception because The City Rooms has so many picturesque spaces.
Getting a chance to play my part as a The City rooms wedding photographer was a personal highlight for me at this celebration. I also had a lovely time working with this couple. Thank you so much for letting me be a part of your special day Sophia and Maksymilian. I wish you guys the very best!
