Swynford Manor Wedding Photography
Updated: Dec 5, 2021
I loved Monica and Alex’s Swynford Manor (@swynfordmanor) wedding. The wedding venue was one of a kind, and I worked with talented and highly skilled vendors. It made the experience so much better and the wedding so successful.
To capture this beautiful wedding, I worked side by side with very talented and skilled videographer Emran from Capturedit Films (@captureditfilms). Together we documented the special moments at this celebration and its beauty. Here’s how this celebration went.
The Swynford Manor Wedding Venue
Swynford Manor (@swynfordmanor) is a delightful wedding venue. It dates back to as early as the 1800s and has impressive architecture featuring dark wooden details. Swynford Manor is one of those wedding venues that will bring an air of luxury and romance to your event.

The light in this place is a dream of any wedding photographer. It was just perfect for a natural wedding photography style. I loved both getting ready spaces because of their beautiful light.
The amenities available for weddings at Swynford Manor are practical and luxurious. This venue has an indoor and outdoor space and is easily accessible too. It can accommodate as many as 150 guests, but there is also a space for more intimate celebrations. You’ll enjoy your wedding here because there are many picturesque spaces.
I love to capture couples getting ready for their wedding. The excitement and laughter are part of what makes wedding photography so special. I love the chance to document them as they realise that their special day is finally here.
Getting ready pictures are also a chance for me to capture other important wedding details. Some of them include the wedding dress, rings, bridal shoes, bridesmaid dresses, and wedding invites.
I started the day by documenting Monica and her bridal team as they got ready for this Swynford Manor wedding. I especially love that there was something to keep the little kids excited.
I loved taking photographs of her and her ladies, toasting a happy day. I also captured Monica opening her wedding day gift. It was so beautiful, especially the moment with her mum. I also love how everyone had on beautiful matching robes.
Finally, Monica put on her wedding dress from Essex Bridal Outlet (@essexbridaloutlet, @allurebridals), and it was beautiful. She looked so stunning. She also had a special first look moment with her parents, who looked really delighted at how amazing she looked.
After spending time with Monica, it was time for this wedding photography to take me to the groom. Alex and his men looked equally delighted to be getting ready for this wedding. They all looked amazing in their suits from Dapper Chaps Formal Wear (@dapperchapsformalwear). Alex especially looked fantastic.
One thing I really loved about this getting ready with the groom was how everyone helped the other. From the suspenders to the boutonnieres and bowties, there was so much unity. I had a great time capturing these men as they prepared, and then it was time for the celebration itself.
The Wedding Ceremony
The décor at the ceremony space of this Swynford Manor wedding was fabulous. The flowers from Victoria Free Floristry (@victoriafreefloristry) were gorgeous. They helped to make the wedding ceremony space very romantic.
The ceremony started with Alex waiting for his beautiful bride at the altar. She descended a flight of stairs with her dad like in a fairy-tale before walking down the aisle. It was all so beautiful, and Alex might have shed a tear or two.
Soon the ceremony was on the way, and the couples said their vows, exchanged rings and then shared their first married kiss. It was all so very romantic. They then signed their wedding certificate with witnesses and walked out to a receiving line with confetti. I loved capturing this moment as their wedding photographer (@veronikaj_photography).
Wedding Day Photoshoot and Cocktail Hour
After this couple’s wedding, it was time for the main wedding photography moments. It was during this time that I captured the couple’s family portraits. My natural light photography skills came into use here for these wedding photographs.
Big thanks belong especially to Mark (@markgreatbatchtoastmaster), for making the day run so smoothly and even helping with the formal portraits. Mark was an essential part of the day as a toastmaster. He made sure that the day ran as planned and that everyone was having a great time.
The couples cocktail hour also happened simultaneously, so I could get pictures of them with most of their guests. It was pretty special. Part of this couple’s wedding photographs also included some memorable golden hour portraits.
Here I took lovely portraits of the couple as the sun was setting. They looked so very much in love. The lighting was also very fantastic. Before that, however, there was a lovely wedding reception which I also documented at Swynford Manor.
The Wedding Reception
The wedding reception room had a glass ceiling which worked perfectly for light and airy photography. So, the pictures from this wedding celebration were gorgeous, as you can see.
Optimum Weddings & Events (@optimumweddings) did such an incredible job with the venue styling. The flower decorations from Victoria Free Floristry (@victoriafreefloristry) were absolutely stunning. The beautiful and elegant two-tier wedding cake was done by very talented Tiff (@tiffs.cakes.cambridge). I had a great time putting my natural light photography to use at this venue.
Remember Mark (@markgreatbatchtoastmaster), the toastmaster that I mentioned before? Well, this was another aspect of this wedding where his expertise worked wonderfully. From my experience as a wedding photographer, it really makes a huge difference to have one. The day is overall much more enjoyable fun and relaxed. That's why I highly recommend hiring a toastmaster. You can check out his profile on Hitched, where he explains more about what he does during the day.
Deist (@deist_weareallfossils) was one of the factors that contributed to Monica and Alex having a lovely celebration. He sang during the cocktail hour and and the wedding breakfast. His performance created a relaxed atmosphere at the wedding.
The speeches were beautiful, and there was lots of laughter. I also loved when Alex stood up to thank their loved ones for coming. It was lovely, and so were the toasts. Everyone had a great time, and then it was time to mingle.
Wedding Cake Cutting and Bouquet Toss
The next in line for this couple to do was cut their wedding cake. They had a lovely two-tiered cake decorated with the same flowers from the bouquet and boutonniere. Mark coordinated the cake cutting moment, and it was beautiful. Then Monica had her bouquet toss before the couple had their first dance.
The first dance at this wedding was romantic, magical and beautiful. You could see how very happy and in love the couple is. I also loved the father-daughter dance and when the guests joined in. It was a lovely party with so much fun.
I loved being the wedding photographer at this gorgeous wedding. I had such a lovely time. I want to say a special thanks to Monica and Alex for letting me be a part of their special day. I’d also love to thank to Emran for working a side by side at this beautiful wedding and other wonderful vendors. They did fantastic work, and as a result, the couple, their guests and everyone had a lovely time. Thank you so much, everyone!
