Caroline and Niall's Worcestershire Wedding

There were many unique aspects to document when Caroline and Niall decided to tie the knot at The Wood Norton (@thewoodnorton) wedding venue. It was a beautiful ceremony that incorporated a lot of cultures. This couple also played a very hands-on role in their wedding.

The Wedding Venue

The Wood Norton is an extraordinary wedding venue in Worcestershire. You'll love the brick details and how much this wedding venue looks like a fairy tale manor house. It was just perfect for Caroline and Niall's magical wedding. I had the opportunity to handle the photography and a highlight video (@veronikaj_photography) for their wedding day at the Wood Norton wedding venue.

This wedding venue has spectacular views of the surrounding landscape, which is the Worcestershire hills. It also offers both indoor and outdoor spaces for weddings. Caroline and Niall used both at their celebration. I am glad that this wedding allowed me to showcase my skills as the Wood Norton wedding photographer.

What Caroline & Niall say:

"Veronika you did such an amazing job! I feel like every photo captures exactly the mood and how we were feeling at each part of the day. Its like reliving the day all over again! They are so light and beautiful, we are absolutely in love.

Thank you so much again for being a part of our special day and giving the photos such care and attention, we are so glad to have chosen you as our photographer and have had you there with us! And I can't believe how quickly you have turned them around either xxx"

Before the wedding, however, we had a fantastic engagement session in Worcester at the riverside of the River Severn. Here are a few words on how splendid the engagement session was and how I handled my opportunity to be a The Wood Norton wedding photographer.

The Engagement Session

I travelled from Birmingham to Worcester for this session, and honestly, when you see these pictures, you'll know that it was worth it. Worcester is a beautiful historical city. For this session, we used the Worcester City Centre. The riverside of the River Severn, to be precise. Caroline had on a lovely gown which was complemented by her vibrant hair. She looked amazing with her hair down and gorgeous black boots.

Niall looked equally impressive in his buttoned-up blue shirt and his black trousers. He also had on matching shoes and looked very in love with Caroline. I enjoyed documenting how much in love they are at this engagement session. You'll love the gif showing the twirl by the riverside, so be sure to check it out.

Getting Ready

I started the day documenting Caroline as she got ready for her wedding. The first thing that strikes you about Caroline is her gorgeous auburn hair. She and her bridesmaids had their makeup done by Kay Louise (@kaylouisemakeup).

Then their hair was handled by Claire (@hairstylistworcester). You should see how Caroline's auburn locks stood out. The ladies also toasted to the beautiful day ahead with personalised champagne flutes.

This couple placed so much importance on the details of this wedding, and you'll be able to see it. I was able to capture them all, like the wedding gown from Wed2b (@wed2b) and the bridesmaid's dresses from David's Bridal (@davidsbridaluk). I also documented Caroline's unique boho bouquet, the wedding rings, the garter and the bridal shoes.

After getting ready, Caroline had an emotional First Look with her dad. She had some happy tears in her eyes during this special moment.

Next, I captured Niall as he got ready for the wedding with his groomsmen. He is Irish and decided to wear a traditional kilt for his wedding day. His family from Ireland, unfortunately, couldn't attend because of the covid travel restrictions.

However, his family was present with the couple via live stream thanks to technology. Funny fact: the groom actually took longer to get ready than the bride. It's not as easy as it seems to put a kilt on. Nevertheless, Niall looked amazing in his highlandwear provided by Slater Menswear (@slatermenswear).

The Wedding Ceremony

The look on Niall's face as he saw Caroline is not one you'd easily forget. And why not? She looked glorious coming down the aisle with her dad in her dress. Then it was time for the ceremony where the couple said their vows, exchanged rings and had their first kiss as a married couple.

I especially love the warm tones and décor at this wedding ceremony. The flowers were by Hidden Botanics (@hiddenbotanics), and they also handled the buttonholes and crowns. The lovely wooden details of this wedding ceremony space also combined with the wooden walls to create fantastic The Wood Norton wedding photography. The entire experience was magical and memorable.

The Wood Norton Wedding Photography

I am grateful that I got this opportunity to be a The Wood Norton wedding photographer. It was fun capturing this couple and their loved ones. I especially enjoyed the confetti moment (Shropshire Petals, @shropshirepetals). The wedding venue had a spectacular view of the surrounding landscape, which we used for the formal portraits. This happened as part of the wedding's cocktail hour.

I was also able to capture the couple with their small wedding party of four. The bridesmaids had on a beautiful green dress from David's Bridal (@davidsbridaluk). The groomsmen had on suits from Slater Menswear (@slatermenswear) and ties from Swagger & Swoon (@swaggerandswoon).

After the formal portraits with loved ones, I captured the couple themselves. They looked very in love, and I used props like the old couple's swing at The Wood Norton. Again, the pictures came out looking amazing. After that, it was time for the wedding reception and party.

The Wedding Reception

You will notice that this couples wedding reception décor was pretty unique and special. That's because they choose Japan as their wedding theme. They had gotten engaged in Japan and choose to celebrate that on their wedding day. The results were perfect, and I captured it all.

Caroline is a very creative person. So, she did all of the wedding decorations herself, including all the origami cranes and table centrepieces. How fabulous is that? They also had their reception tables named after famous places in Japan.

Another item that stood out at this wedding was the wedding cake by Green Bean (@thegreenbeancake). It was the right mix of green, white, and gold, perfectly complementing this wedding's theme.

The celebration itself was lovely with lots of laughter and happiness. Everyone had a great time, and you can see those in the photos and the highlight videos. Thank you for letting me be a part of your beautiful day, Caroline and Niall.
